Treating or Preventing Cognitive Decline

Cognitive health is shaped by the interplay between genetics, inflammation, detoxification, neurotransmitters and the nervous system’s ability to repair and adapt. Through Lifecode Gx testing, I explore the full set of pathways that influence long-term brain resilience, including APOE for lipid and amyloid regulation, MTHFR for methylation and homocysteine balance, COMT, MAOA and MAOB for dopamine and neurotransmitter metabolism, BDNF for neuroplasticity, and the serotonin, dopamine and noradrenaline transporters SLC6A2, SLC6A3 and SLC6A4. I also assess the dopamine receptor genes DRD2, DRD3 and DRD4, which affect motivation, memory processing and cognitive flexibility, and GAD1, which regulates GABA and the brain’s ability to calm, sleep and recover.

Alongside this, I work with the key inflammatory genes IFNG, TNF and IL6, and the antioxidant and glutathione pathways including SOD2, GPX, NQO1 and the wider glutathione system, which together protect the brain from oxidative stress, toxins, vascular damage and mitochondrial decline.

By integrating these findings with functional medicine, targeted supplementation, hormonal and metabolic balance, gut–brain support, emotional and relational healing, and microdosed homeoherbal medicine, I create a personalised therapeutic process that aims not only to prevent decline but to enhance clarity, memory, mood and cognitive vitality.

This work strengthens the brain’s capacity to heal, adapt and stay connected. It supports you to remain mentally sharp, emotionally grounded and fully present in your relationships, your work and your life.
